RCM lecture

I’m absolutely thrilled to have done my alto guitar seminar for the guitar faculty at the Royal College of music last Friday. Starting with outlined the history of the instrument and it’s development during the 1960′ and concluding with explaining technical differences and challenges when approaching it from having played the 6 string guitar. To this I chose to play the prelude from Bach’s 1st suite for solo cello, a passacaglia in A by S.L. Weiss and an arrangement and variations over the Greensleeves theme.

I had the privilege to have a very attentive and well informed guitar class in front of me, and many interesting issues were raised in the FAQ afterwards. I’m looking forward to come back and take the class further, going into more detail and showing more repertoire.
